Thea Bike Posts 1:01.33 100 Back Moving Up To #47 All-Time In 15-16 On Night 2 Westmont Sectionals

Highlighting night 2 of Sectionals in Westmont was 16 year old Thea Bike who dropped 0.40 off her lifetime best to touch for the win in a 1:01.33 in the 100 back. Bike now moves up from #68 to #47 all-time in the 15-16 age group, sitting ahead of names such as Isabel Ivey (1:01.36, #48), Katharine Berkoff (1:01.55, #52), and Olivia Smoliga (1:01.56, #54).

The 400 IM came down to the final touch as Olivia Swalley earned the win in a 4:56.78 touching just ahead of Mckenzie Vasquez who swam to a 4:56.91. Vasquez, a Texas A&M commit, was only half a second off her lifetime best she swam in May of this year.

Aria Grossenbach, a Louisville commit for 2027, won the 100 free in a 56.32. She has been as fast as a 55.64 before, a time she swam at the Mel Zajac Jr. Invite last month. Also earning a win on the girls side was 16 year old Selah Austin who touched in a 27.60 in the 50 fly.

National Age Group record holder Elliot Leasure earned the win in the boys 100 back in a 56.28. The 14 year old holds the 13-14 NAG record after swimming a 55.86 last month. He touched just ahead of Michael Long in Westmont, who was 2nd in a 56.30.

After winning the 200 free on night 1, Kai Joyner added another win on the weekend as he swam to a 4:28.01 in the 400 IM. That was a second off his lifetime best 4:26.70. Jackson Kogler, who swims at the University of Wyoming, was 2nd in the event in a 4:28.25.

Enzo Solitario was just 0.01 off his season best in the 100 free, touching in a 50.43 for the win. He swam a 50.42 in prelims at the Indianapolis Pro Series last month and has a lifetime best 49.73 in the event from last summer. Luke Vatev was 2nd in a 50.82, 0.80 off his lifetime best. Joey Stauss closed the night on the boys side with a win in the 50 fly, touching in a 24.22.
