2026 NCAA qualifier Giulia Zambelli will transfer from LSU to Texas for the upcoming 2026-2027 season. Originally from Bologna, Italy, Zambelli just finished her sophomore season.
Zambelli finished her sophomore season at the 2026 NCAA Championships where she was 21st in the 200 fly (1:55.90) and swam on LSU’s 800 free relay with a 1:46.16 lead off split to help the relay finish 19th.
Back in February, she ‘A’ finaled in the 200 fly at SECs as she swam a 1:56.53 to finish 7th. She also was 36th in the 100 fly and 42nd in the 200 free. She also swam on LSU’s 800 free relay.
She swam a lifetime best 1:53.76 200 fly back in November during LSU’s quad meet that also included Tulane, Rice, and Houston. She also swam a 52.72 lifetime best in the 100 fly at the same meet.
Zambelli did not make NCAAs as a freshman as she finished her season at the 2025 SEC Championships where she was highlighted by a 19th place finish in the 200 fly (1:56.24) which at the time was a lifetime best.
Prior to arriving at LSU, she most notably represented Italy at the 2026 World Junior Championships where she was highlighted by a 16th place finish in the LCM 200 fly (2:15.47).

- 200 fly: 1:53.76
- 200 free: 1:46.09
The Texas women captured the 2026 SEC Championship and went on to finish 3rd at the 2026 NCAA Championships. Campbell Stoll was the team’s only scorer in the 200 fly at SECs and NCAAs as Stoll won the SEC title in a 1:50.60 before going on to swim a 1:50.26 to win the NCAA title. Stoll enters her senior season this fall so the two will be able to train this upcoming season together.
