Justin Wong of North Bay Aquatics in San Francisco has committed to UCSB for this coming fall.

Wong has made significant improvements since the pandemic hit, going from 21.4/46.1/1:41.2 in the sprint free events to his current bests, while he has also gone from 49.4 to 48.1 in the 100 fly. His current bests in those four events all came from the St. George Sectional Championships just a few weeks ago.
This past season, Wong would’ve been the fastest 100 butterflier on the UCSB roster, while he would’ve ranked third in the 100 free. At the 2021 MPSF Championships, Wong would’ve finished runner-up in the 100 fly with his current best, so this is a big get for the Gauchos.
Wong joins Austin Sparrow, Jude DiStefano, Matthew Driscoll and Kyle Brill in UCSB’s impressive incoming class.
