The Texas A team won it in 6:14.62, with Jonathan Roberts leading off in 1:35.29. Teammates Jeff Newkirk (1:33.60), Joseph Schooling (1:33.17), and Townley Haas (1:32.56) finished the job as they won in 6:14.62.
Arizona kicked off a weekend of Pac-12 battles in a home dual meet against UCLA on Friday. The Wildcats outlasted the Bruins in a close battle, winning by 9 points.
Arizona freshmen Brooks Fail and Sam Iida picked up 2 wins each to help the Wildcats beat Utah.
Hannah Cox was the leading performer, winning an individual triple. She kicked things off in the 1000 free, winning by nearly 20 seconds as she touched the wall in 9:58.52.
USC had the fastest leadoff swimmer, with Dylan Carter blasting a 1:32.62 to help the Trojans to their 2nd place finish.
Arizona women defeat New Mexico State, Oregon State and Northern Arizona at home.
Bonnie Brandon had the fastest split in the women’s 800 free relay, as her Arizona Wildcats took the win in 7:01.50 over Texas and USC.
