University of Cincinnati swimming and diving continued its strong start to the 2019-2020 season with a dual meet sweep of IUPUI Friday night.
The Bearcats swept nine individual events and all four diving events in a sweep of Denison on Saturday. The women won 226.5 to 73.5, while the men won 227-72.
Cincinnati swimming and diving was nothing but victorious on Saturday as the men’s and women’s teams beat both Miami (Ohio) and Michigan State.
Cincinnati defeated beat both Miami (OH) and Michigan State at a tri-meet in Oxford, Ohio on Saturday. MSU, in turn, downed the host Redhawks.
Cincinnati split its season-opening meet at Indianapolis Friday night with the men winning 166.50-133.50 and the women falling 158-142.
On the opening day of the Cleveland Sectionals, Michigan swimmer and national team member Charlie Swanson posted the 10th-fastest US time in the 200 breast.
Houston dominated the meet for their third straight American Athletic Conference title, winning four events on the final day of action. The Cincinnati men repeated as champs, and did so by winning every event except the 200 breaststroke on Day 4.
The Houston women more than doubled their lead on Day 3 of the AAC Championships, winning three events, while East Carolina won five of the six events on the men’s side, but Cincinnati still boasts the overall lead.
