STONY BROOK, N.Y. — Building off a strong finish to 2025, Stony Brook swimming and diving carried its momentum into the New Year with a dominant victory over CAA foe Monmouth, as ten event wins propelled the Seawolves to a 160-66 win.
HIGHLIGHTS
- Mykayla Lavery won the 1-meter dive event (279.30).
- Kunzang Sharchitsang, Pelagia Chazov, Michelle Vu, and Alanna DePinto teamed up to win the 200-yard medley relay (1:49.39).
- Carson Kien picked up an event win in the 1000-yard freestyle (11:03.38).
- DePinto won the 50-yard freestyle (25.06).
- Elaine Liu outpaced the field to win the 200-yard IM (2:12.55).
- On the diving board, Natalia Chornomidza won the 3-meter diving event (282.15).
- DePinto won the 100-yard freestyle (54.12).
- Sharchitsang outpaced the field to win the 100-yard backstroke (1:00.51).
- Chazov recorded a first-place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:07.12).
- Avari Wischhof, Michelle Vu, Francesca Baber, and Carson Kien teamed up to win the 200-yard freestyle relay (1:40.53).

“Great meet today for our team against a conference opponent. This is an early meet for us, and it was great to get a win in our pool to start the year,” noted head coach Mark Anderson. “I was really proud of how the team competed and defended the den.
