Only Two Scratches Before Night 2 of the Arena PSS – Indianapolis

2016 ARENA PRO SWIM SERIES AT INDIANAPOLIS

The heat sheets are out (linked above) for tonight’s finals at the Arena Pro Swim Series in Indianapolis, with only two scratches occurring out of the A and B flights. Both scratches were from B finals, so all of the A finals remain intact after this morning’s prelims session.

The first scratch is Athens Bulldog Swim Club’s Gunnar Bentz, who was slated to compete in the B final of the 200 breast. He’s the #3 seed in the 200 fly, and will focus on that instead. Bentz is primarily an IM’er, but is very strong in both the 200 fly and the 200 breast. Kentucky Aquatics’ Austin Haney will now move into the B final of the 200 breast.

The other scratch was Club Wolverine’s Justin Glanda, who dropped the 400 free, where he finished 16th overall. That would’ve been Glanda’s only swim tonight, after placing 6th in the 200 free last night. With Glanda out of the B final, that moves up Scotland’s Mark Szaranek.

Tonight’s finals session will begin in Indy at approximately 6pm eastern time.
