Siobhan Marie O’Connor put up impressive times winning both the 200 IM and 100 breaststroke at the Scottish National Championships. O’Connor started off her evening by taking the women’s 200 IM in a time of 2:09.36 finishing over three seconds ahead of the field. Her time was just off her season’s best of 2:09.03, which currently sits second in the world rankings.
O’Connor finished third in the 200 IM at the 2015 World Championships behind Katinka Hosszu and Kanako Watanabe.
She returned to the pool in the very next event to win the women’s 100 breaststroke in a time of 1:06.34, beating her season’s and lifetime best of 1:07.15. Her time places her ninth in the world rankings.
Ross Murdoch, who won the men’s 50 breaststroke on the first day of competition, took the 200 breaststroke in a time of 2:11.32. Murdoch won the European Championships in the event just over a month ago posting a time of 2:08.33.
Camilla Hattersley won her second event of the competition taking the women’s 800 freestyle in a time of 8:37.12.
Jesse Puts took the men’s 50 butterfly in a time of 23.88 just missing Joeri Verlinden‘s Dutch national record of 23.63.
Guy Barnea of Israel took the men’s 100 backstroke in a time of 54.49 just off his lifetime best of 54.29.
Kim Busch of the Netherlands won the women’s 50 freestyle in a time of 25.16 just one one-hundredth of a second off her lifetime best of 25.15, which she recorded in April.
Nick Grainger won the men’s 400 freestyle finishing in a time of 3:50.82 while Jessica Fullalove won the women’s 200 backstroke in a time of 2:11.12.
