2025 Pro Swim Series ke final din, 28 saal ki Katie Ledecky — jo duniya ki sabse badi freestyler aur all-time greatest female swimmer mani jaati hain — ne apna best race end mein nikaala, aur apna hi 800m freestyle ka world record tod diya.
Unhone apna pehla world record jo 2016 mein 19 saal ki umr mein banaya tha (8:04.79) usse behtar karte hue naya time diya: 8:04.12!
Ye Ledecky ka 16th individual world record hai, aur pehla record 7 saal baad aaya hai — last record unhone May 2018 mein banaya tha 1500m freestyle (15:20.48).

- Race ki shuruaat hi dhamakedaar thi — pehle 50m mein 27.59 ka split, jo unke pehle record se lagbhag 0.5 second fast tha.
