Utility Coach

Job Description:

West Coast Aquatics (Mill Creek, WA) is looking for a versatile coach to work across several areas of our team and organization. This candidate will primarily work with our Age Group and Development swimmers but must be effective with athletes of all ages. This coach will work with our year-round club team, Summer rec team, and non-competitive groups at multiple locations (within 4 miles). Additionally, there are lessons, office hours and lifeguarding shifts available, making a full-time position available for the right candidate.


Coaching Hours: Monday-Friday 4-8pm


Job Requirements:

Lifeguard & CPR Certified: must hold, or be capable of obtaining, American Red Cross Lifeguarding & CPR Certification. Prefer if candidate is already certified, but we regularly offer classes throughout the year and will reimburse the cost of the class and renewal.

USA Swimming Coaching Certifications: must meet all membership requirements of USA Swimming Coaches. View USA Swimming’s website for more information.

Strong Customer Service Skills: This position is the first line of communication for the much of our business and the gateway to our entire program. Parents must be educated from the beginning on how to be a good swim parent and this person needs to be outgoing, friendly and personable.

Problem Solving Skills & Ability to Think Critically: In a fast-paced, emotionally charged environment it is critical this person can self-start, work independently and make judgement calls under pressure.

Disciplined & Dedicated: Coaches must lead their swimmers by example. This Coach must work closely with the other coaches to maximize overall swimmer performance and experience through the transitions of the program.
