SwimSwam is looking for a writer and swim database coordinator to join the staff on a full-time basis to help cover the news of swimming.
The ideal candidate will have a background in competitive swimming as an athlete and/or coach and will also be engaged in the news cycle of the sport (most likely as a SwimSwam reader). This person will be responsible for maintaining several swim data databases as well. While deep math skills are not necessary, an affinity for data is a huge plus.
The ideal candidate will be expected to work a minimum of 40 hours per week, with extra hours needed during big meets. Schedule will include working most Fridays-Saturdays-Sundays, with flexible scheduling the rest of the week.
Candidates should also have a strong writing background, either formally or through active participation in online communities, and must be comfortable asking difficult questions either over the phone or via email.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 – $30.00 per hour (with incentives)
Experience:
