Southwestern University seeks candidates for the position of Assistant Men’s & Women’s Swimming & Diving Coach. This position will serve as the Assistant of the Men’s & Women’s Swimming & Diving Coach program and provide outstanding leadership in support for Southwestern University students. This individual may potentially teach ESS or Fitness and Recreation Activities (FRA) program. This is a 12-month, full-time, exempt position with benefits.

Primary Duties:

Provide skill instruction and conditioning work consistent with a high-performing NCAA Division III varsity athletic program.

Recruit and retain highly talented athletes who also have the academic acumen to thrive at Southwestern University.

Participate in fundraising activities to support program objectives.

Comply with all University, conference, and NCAA policies, procedures, and by laws.

Mentor University students by modeling professionalism and high moral standards.

Support classroom excellence by utilizing all available University resources in support of students.

Serve as an Administrator in Charge (AIC) of select University events.

Participate on campus committees as requested.

Instructor for ESS or FRA classes if qualified.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree

Demonstrate success in coaching or competing at a highly competitive level.

Certification in CPR and First Aid or willing to become certified with three months of hire.

Knowledge, understanding, and acceptance of cultural differences and the diversity within the campus and community.

Preferred Position Requirement:

Knowledge and experience in Collegiate or professional playing in the sport.

Knowledge and experience in recruiting college-level varsity athletes.
