Location: Lakeside SeaHawks Swim Team, Woodbourne Avenue, Louisville, KY, USA
Lakeside Swim Team in Louisville, KY has been a nationally prominent swim team since 1928, producing 12 US Olympians and being named a Gold Medal Club 20 times. The team currently has 400+ members and strives to provide outstanding instruction and training to all levels of swimmers. For more information on our program https://lakesideseahawks.org/
The position can be full or part-time, pending candidates’ experience, qualifications and desire. The full-time position would have the coach lead our Developmental Group, potentially lead our Senior Prep Group and assist with other Senior and Age Group training groups as needed. The coach will be involved in all aspects of team development and management. A typical week will include approximately 20-25 hours of on-deck coaching and 15+ hours of administrative duties. The priority for a part-time position is a Lead Developmental Coach which would be approximately 5-6 hours on deck and 5-6 hours administrative, with the option to increase hours/duties by assisting Senior and Age Group Groups.
Qualifications:
- Coaching and / or competitive swimming experience at the club or collegiate level.
- Current USA Swimming coach certifications.
- Loves coaching. Passion for developing swimmers of all ages.
- Strong communication, organizational, and administrative skills.
- Expertise with current technique development and training.
- Enthusiastic, hard working, and highly motivated team player.
Job Requirements
- College Degree (Preferred)
- 3 plus years coaching experience including teaching technique and the development of life-long swimming skills. Must be comfortable with younger swimmers. Teaching and educational experience is a plus.
- Strong communication skills working with parents, swimmers and coaches and a team first approach is important.
- Possess USA Swimming certifications and credentials commensurate with the position and pass back ground check. Abides by applicable USA Swimming Codes of Conduct and Safe Sport Requirements and Pass a reference check.
Preferred Skills
- Computer proficiency including the use of e-mail, Internet Navigation, Google Suite, Microsoft Office and Publisher Software, Hy-Tek, Team Unify, and Social Media Platforms.
- Dryland experience and understanding of dryland progressions from the age group to senior level with the ability to teach, design programs and train swimmers.
