🔹 Position Summary
The NTN Head Coach will lead and coordinate all coaching and programmatic elements of the Age Group, Senior, and Pre-Competitive divisions. This leadership role is central to the development pipeline and culture of the club, requiring a coach who is technically skilled, highly communicative, and enthusiastic about mentoring swimmers and staff alike. The Head Coach will work closely with the Board of Directors and coaching team to achieve shared goals.
🔹 Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coach Age Group, Senior, and Pre-Competitive groups (ages 6–19)
- Develop and implement training plans that emphasize proper technique, long-term development, and racing skills
- Supervise and mentor assistant coaches to ensure consistent program delivery
- Collaborate with the Board of Directors on team goals, planning, and staffing
- Oversee swimmer progression, goal setting, and regular evaluations
- Enter swimmers in meets, attend competitions, and manage meet logistics and travel
- Communicate clearly and proactively with parents and athletes
- Support club operations, including registration, records, communications, and outreach initiatives
🔹 Qualifications
Required:
- Current USA Swimming Coach Membership in good standing
- Current CPR, First Aid, and SafeSport certifications
- Minimum 5 years of coaching experience with competitive swimmers, preferably across multiple age levels
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in TeamUnify, Hy-Tek Meet/Team Manager, and general computer literacy
- Demonstrated ability to motivate and develop swimmers in a positive, team-oriented culture
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (education, kinesiology, sports management)
- ASCA Level 3 certification or higher
- Experience leading a multi-level program within a parent-owned or board-led club structure
- Proven ability to build relationships and contribute to the growth of a nonprofit sports organization
🔹 Physical & Environmental Expectations
- Standing and moving on deck for extended periods
- Occasional lifting (15–45 lbs), bending, climbing ladders
- Working indoors and outdoors in varying conditions (heat, humidity, pool environment)
- Occasional travel for meets and team events
- Ability to manage emergencies and maintain professional composure under pressure
