The University of Iowa is seeking qualified candidates for a full-time Head Coach for the Iowa Flyers Swim Club (IFLY) in the Department of Recreational Services. The Department of Recreational Services offers a variety of programs for UI students, faculty/staff and members of the Iowa City community. Program areas include Intramural Sports, Fitness, Lesson Programs, Outdoor Rental Center, Tennis, Rowing, Sport Clubs, Environmental Education, and open recreation. There are seven indoor facilities including the Campus Recreation and Wellness Center, Field House, Hawkeye Tennis & Recreation Center, Fitness East, Beckwith Boathouse, and Recreation Building. Outdoor facilities include the Hawkeye Recreation Fields, Hawkeye Softball Complex, and the 485-acre MacBride Nature Recreation Area. Many of these facilities are multi-use, shared facilities with Athletics and other departments.
The Iowa Flyers Swim Club is a registered USA Swimming member club operated by University of Iowa Recreational Services. The club is a competitive age-group swim club open to University of Iowa members and the general public which offers participation levels from developmental through elite, as well as Masters swimming. IFLY has achieved a Silver Medal ranking in USA Swimming’s Club Excellence program, and has produced swimmers who have competed on a regional, national, and international level. The club is part of a comprehensive aquatics program offered by Recreational Services. The Iowa Flyers practice in the University of Iowa Campus Recreation and Wellness Center and University of Iowa Field House.
This position will operate and administer the Iowa Flyers Swim Club as Head Coach of the program. This position will also assist in the operation of Recreational Services Aquatic facilities, programs and special events.
Salary and Benefits:
- $43,000 to commensurate.
