Position: Head Age Group Coach

Job Overview:
As the Head Age Group Coach, you will play a crucial role in leading and developing our age group swimmers, with a particular focus on skill development, technique refinement, and instilling a love for the sport. You will work closely with swimmers between the ages of 5 and 12, providing them with expert guidance, mentoring, and creating a positive and motivating training environment. Additionally, you will collaborate with the Head Coach and coaching staff to ensure a cohesive and effective coaching program.

Responsibilities:
Develop and implement age-specific training programs and workout plans for swimmers between the ages of 5 and 12.
Conduct swim practices, focusing on stroke technique, skill development, endurance, and racing strategies.
Provide individualized feedback and goal setting for swimmers, assisting them in tracking progress and achieving personal and group goals.
Attend and coach at swim meets, offering guidance and support to swimmers during competitions.
Foster a positive and inclusive team culture, promoting sportsmanship, respect, and teamwork among athletes.
Maintain regular communication with swimmers and their families to provide updates, address concerns, and offer guidance.
Stay current with the latest coaching techniques and methodologies, continuously expanding your knowledge and expertise.
Assist in recruiting and evaluating new swimmers, conducting tryouts, and providing recommendations for team placement.
Coordinate staffing schedules to ensure proper staffing for age group practices and meets.
Assist Head Coach in Recruiting and training qualified enthusiastic new staff members.
Collaborate with the Head Coach and coaching staff to establish team goals and strategies for long-term success.

Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years of coaching experience, preferably in age group swimming.
USA Swimming certification or equivalent, including all required safety certifications.
Deep understanding of swimming technique, training principles, and competitive strategies.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to connect and motivate young athletes.
Strong organizational skills, with the ability to plan and execute effective training sessions and meet schedules.
Enthusiasm for working with swimmers of all abilities and dedication to their personal growth.
Ability to coordinate staffing schedules to ensure proper staffing for age group practices and meets.
Ability to collaborate and work effectively within a coaching team and with parents.
Flexibility to work evenings and weekends, as required by swim meet schedules.
Passion for swimming and a commitment to upholding the values and mission of the Crow Canyon Sharks.
Experience in coaching swimmers between the ages of 5 and 12 is highly desirable.

Compensation:

The compensation for the Head Age Group Coach position will be in the range of $60,000 to $75,000 to start, commensurate with experience and qualifications.  There is A LOT of opportunity for Salary growth with good performance and there is also an opportunity for additional salary for candidates with Learn to Swim lesson experience.
