Director of Competitive Swimming – New Trier Aquatics

Location: 7 N Happ Rd, Northfield, IL 60093, USA

Job Description:
Develop and oversee program development for all facets of the competitive swim program
Primary coach for top 7th & 8th Graders with option to expand upon integration into program
Coordinate 1 yr/3 yr/5 yr program plans with CEO/Head Coach
Act as part of Executive staff to create long term vision for program-wide success
Design & Schedule Parent Education courses
Continue in-house Coach and Athlete Education Opportunities
Create athlete enhancement programs – mentorship, intersquad competition, guest speakers

Lead Regular Staff Meetings at various levels of the program as needed for cohesive communication
Lead Competitive Swimming Leadership team – Developmental Age Group Coach, Performance Coaching Staff and Lead Senior Coach
Coordinate social events and volunteer opportunities for competitive swimming with assistance from the board
Design competitive schedule and coordinate meet entries for the entire program
With the CEO and Leadership Swim Coaches – develop a reasonable and cohesive practice schedule that mirrors the philosophy of the program
Expand and enhance fundraising efforts for the Hour Of Power to maximize the give back efforts.
Travel as needed to competitions locally, regionally and nationally

Job Requirements
8+ years coaching experience with at least 4 years as a head coach or lead associate coach
Undergraduate Degree from Accredited institution
Extensive leadership experience with educating and managing coaches of varied background
Demonstrated success managing and motivating larger staff
Consistent athlete success at the state and sectional level
Bronze level status within the past five years and/or a VCC score in the top 250 programs.
Professional appearance and comfort with public speaking and phone conversations
Past competitive athletic experience highly encouraged
Extensive experience with computers, team unify, and basic Google programs

Preferred Job Requirements
12+ years coaching, the majority of which is in a head coach or associate head coach role
Masters or Doctoral Degree from accredited institution
Involvement at the LSC level in governance/education/clinic development
Sustained athlete/program success at the National or Junior National level
Current Bronze Level program
Takes pride in strong organizational skills and clear communication
Professional office or education experience outside of the swimming community
Collegiate or National level Athletic Experience
