The Bozeman Barracudas Swim Club is seeking a Head Coach to provide enthusiastic leadership to our swimmers, coaching staff, and families. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in competitive swimming with experience coaching swimmers of all ages and abilities. This candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing training programs, organizing and attending swim meets, and providing feedback and support to our athletes. The Head Coach will also oversee Assistant Coaches to ensure that all swimmers are receiving the proper attention and guidance to reach their full potential.
In addition to coaching responsibilities, the Head Coach will play a key role in recruiting new swimmers, communicating with parents, and fostering a positive and inclusive team culture across training groups. They should be passionate about the sport of swimming and dedicated to helping each swimmer achieve their goals, both in and out of the pool.
Primary duties include:
- Developing and implementing a comprehensive training program and strategy focused on increasing the participation and performance of all swimmers and coaches.
- Managing the team’s day-to-day operations and ensuring that the program complies with all rules and regulations set forth by governing bodies, such as USA Swimming and Montana Swimming.
- Overseeing and directing all practices, meets, and team events
- Managing and mentoring Assistant Coaches.
- Communicating effectively with swimmers, parents, and Assistant Coaches.
- Managing team budget and expenses
- Communicating and coordinating with the Board of Directors.
- Maintaining high swimmer renewal rates and recruitment of new swimmers.
- Promoting a positive team culture and fostering a sense of camaraderie among team members and training groups.
Qualifications:
- Strong background in competitive swimming, with an understanding of relevant technique & training concepts and a willingness to stay current with latest developments in training and swimming.
- Obtain and maintain all the swim coaching certifications required by, and remain in good standing with, USA Swimming and Montana Swimming.
- Ability to work cooperatively with swimmers, their families, and other coaches.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
