Delta Aquatics, a coach owned year-round competitive swim club and swim lesson program, based out of Oswego East High School (Oswego, IL) is seeking an experienced, enthusiastic, and dedicated Associate Head Coach/Head Senior Coach to join our swim team staff. 

The Associate Head Coach/Head Senior Coach will have autonomy over and is responsible for the Senior Program, and will work with the Head Coach in the daily operations of running the team. This is a great opportunity to be involved with establishing the future identity and direction of the program.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: [The list below is not intended to be all-inclusive.]

  • Oversee all aspects of the Senior Program
  • Plan, prepare and conduct swimming and dryland workouts for Senior level swimmers
  • Be an energetic, compassionate teacher and a strong motivator capable of molding successful swimmers in and out of the water, while allowing individuals to define success for themselves
  • Assist swimmers in developing and improving the technical and physical skills of competitive swimming, and aid them in achieving success, as it pertains to each individual
  • Train and manage assistant coaches
  • Travel to local and out-of-state meets
  • Work directly with the Head Coach to create a positive and inclusive team environment
  • Perform additional administrative duties that pertain to the daily operations of the club
  • Maintain effective quality communication with swimmers, parents and staff, including publishing meet and practice calendars, expectations, and opportunities, communicating via emails, texts, phone calls, etc.
  • Assist and substitute for other practices as needed.
  • Assist with programming needs and performs other related duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS: [The requirements listed below are representative of the minimum education and/or hands-on experience necessary to perform each essential responsibility.]

  • Current USA Swimming coach member in good standing, including all courses and certifications 
  • Coaching experience and proven success with both developmental and elite swimmers
  • Well-versed in using Hy-Tek software and TeamUnify platforms
  • Prior experience training, managing and developing assistant coaches is preferred
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.


COMPENSATION:

The Head Senior Coach is a full-time exempt position with irregular hours including evenings and weekends. Salary starts at $55,000 and is dependent upon qualifications and experience. This position is eligible for a medical insurance stipend, matching IRA contributions, paid time off, performance bonus plan, meet travel expenses and mileage. There are additional practice group coaching opportunities and clinic opportunities for additional income. Delta covers annual expenses for all coach recertification and USA Swimming registration.
