The Stonehill women’s swim team completed it’s second season in 2021-2022. The team posted an impressive 6-3 dual meet record and placed 7th at the NE-10 championship. In it’s first year of competition, Stonehill produced 22 finalists at the meet, 12 of whom were A finalists, and a conference champion. The team has achieved CSCAA scholar team honors each semester. We are excited to build on the momentum of this young team as we rise to division 1 in the Northeast Conference (NEC). The team culture has laid a foundation for success. We are looking for an enthusiastic and team-oriented coach to be a part of this unique and historic experience as we build the next great NCAA swim program in the region.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Effectively assist in coaching a competitive swim program in a manner which promotes sportsmanship and integrity, ensuring compliance with all NCAA, Northeast conference, and institutional rules and regulations.
Communicates effectively and often with the head coach and the student-athletes
Establish and maintain good personal relationships with student-athletes and staff
Assist in providing a supportive, encouraging, and challenging environment for the student-athletes
Provide effective and corrective biomechanical feedback to the team, small groups, and individuals
Ability to work weekdays – early mornings and/or early evenings, some weekends
Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree, required
At least 1 year of professional coaching experience at the high school, club, or NCAA level
AND/OR
Experience as an NCAA, NJCAA, or NAIA varsity swimmer
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of study to the duties of the position
American Red Cross Lifeguard and First Aid and CPR/AED certification
Valid Driver’s License
Strong oral and written communication
Coaching philosophy and teaching concepts compatible with the Head Coach and Athletic Department’s vision
Ability to develop and maintain positive and professional relationships with student-athletes and staff
Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse ethnic, cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds Physical Demands“… move up to 30 pounds…” Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to an indoor environment that is warm. The employee may get wet. The noise level in the environment is usually moderate but can become loud.
