The Naval Academy Athletic Association (NAAA), founded in 1891, is a nonprofit organization whose objective is to “promote, influence, and assist in financing the varsity athletic programs of the midshipmen of the United States Naval Academy” in accordance with the policy of the Superintendent of the Academy. Through an intercollegiate athletics program that is one of the largest in the country, every midshipman, male and female, is afforded the opportunity to compete in athletics at the Division I level. The emphasis on physical fitness is borne out in the first line of the mission of the U.S. Naval Academy: To develop midshipmen morally, mentally and physically.

Summary

The NAAA seeks an immediate full-time Assistant Women’s Swimming Coach that will work within all guidelines, rules and regulations of the Naval Academy, NCAA and Patriot League.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Job responsibilities will be assigned by the Head Coach and will include coaching, recruiting, event management (visiting team & officials liaison), operations (pool switches), facilities’ management (timing equipment & scoreboard/video upkeep), camps, and alumni relations.

Qualifications

Proven experience with attracting and successfully recruiting qualified candidates to the college/university level within NCAA regulations.
Proven experience and passion for technical development and growth of athletes in competitive swimming.
Seeking a detail-oriented, team-oriented and organized individual.
Social Media Skills including proven ability to creatively design material to positively promote the program.
Two years of coaching experience at the collegiate level.
Bachelor’s degree, Master’s preferred.
Additional Eligibility Requirements

Must be eligible to work in the United States of America, without sponsorship.
Must be eligible to work on a military installation, including a willingness to submit to a background screen.
Must possess a valid driver’s license.
Work Conditions/Physical Requirements

Must be able to traverse various athletic grounds and facilities
Prolonged periods of standing or walking
This position will be required to work nights and weekends
May involve frequent bending, moving, lifting, and carrying material weighing up to 50 pounds
Working in all weather conditions; exposure to high noise levels and may require wearing hearing protection
Other physical demands include, but not limited to, standing throughout the day, using a loud voice at practices and events, physical involvement in all practices and workouts with players
Travel

Domestic travel required for recruiting and attendance at away contests.

Pay Range

$58,000 – $65,000
