Job Title: Assistant Swim Coach – Canon McMillian
Compensation: $25 per hour

Pittsburgh Elite Aquatics (PEAQ) is the largest swim club in Allegheny Mountain, operating out of locations at Canon McMillian High School and Upper St. Clair High School. As a Safe Sport Recognized member of USA Swimming, PEAQ offers comprehensive year-round competitive swim programs. Key Responsibilities:

Serve as the Lead Coach for Age Group 3, focusing on skill development and performance improvement.

Assist in coaching other age groups during practices and swim meets as required.

Promote athlete development and contribute to team growth.

Foster a positive team environment that encourages swimmer engagement and success.

Collaborate with head coaches and staff to ensure safety and compliance with USA Swimming policies.
Schedule:
The hourly rate for this position is $25. Candidates must be able to commit to a minimum of 25 hours per week during the short course season, which encompasses both practice sessions and meets. Ideally, candidates should be available for practices five days or evenings per week, in addition to one to two weekends per month for meets. During the long course season, candidates will have varied minimum working hours per week.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Applicants must meet all state and USA Swimming requirements and clearances. A background in high school or college swimming, along with at least two years of coaching experience, is preferred. Reliable transportation and a valid Driver’s License are required.

Previous coaching experience or a background in competitive swimming is essential. Proficiency with Team Unify email systems is helpful.

Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with athletes, parents, and staff members are necessary.

A thorough understanding of age group training principles and effective coaching strategies is crucial.
