Assistant Men’s and Women’s Swimming Coach/Natatorium Coordinator

This is a 12-month, full-time position responsible for assisting the head coach with all phases of the men’s and women’s swimming program in a manner compatible with department and University philosophies.
Assist the head coach in the following primary responsibilities:
  • recruitment of prospective student-athletes
  • coaching, mentoring, and retaining student-athletes
  • in-season practice and meet planning; pre and post season conditioning
  • compliance with NCAA Division II, GLVC, and University rules and regulations
  • team travel arrangements
  • assist with all aspects of team’s fundraising
Additional responsibilities for on-campus natatorium include (but not limited to):
  • manage pool usage schedule including open swim and intercollegiate athletics;
  • hire, train, and schedule lifeguards as needed;
  • coordinate with Physical Plant pool maintenance technician as needed;
  • any other duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications
Required qualifications include: A bachelor’s degree; demonstrated effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills: CPR and First Aid Certification. Also must be able to travel for competition and recruiting with most travel occurring evenings and weekends.


Preferred Qualifications
Preferred qualifications include: a master’s degree, collegiate, USA/YMCA club, or high school coaching experience; collegiate swimming experience, familiarity with team and meet manager software.
