Job Title: Assistant Swim Coach

About Us: Established in 2017, SHARKS Swim Club is a year-round USA Swimming competitive team serving swimmers of all ages in the Friendswood and League City areas. Our mission is to provide a safe, healthy, and positive environment for all athletes to grow in their sport. We offer a range of programs, including competitive teams, swim school, adaptive aquatics, and masters swimming.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist in planning and conducting daily training sessions across various age groups and skill levels.
- Provide technical instruction to enhance swimmers’ techniques, including strokes, starts, and turns.
- Promote a positive team culture emphasizing hard work, sportsmanship, and personal development.
- Attend and support swimmers at local, regional, and national swim meets.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as attendance tracking, meet entries, and communication with swimmers and parents.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols in line with SHARKS Swim Club and USA Swimming policies.
- Collaborate with the Head Coach and staff to develop and implement training plans and athlete development strategies.
Qualifications:
- Previous coaching experience at the club, high school, or collegiate level preferred.
- Strong knowledge of competitive swimming techniques and USA Swimming regulations.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Current USA Swimming coaching certifications or willingness to obtain them prior to employment.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and travel for swim meets.
- Passion for coaching and mentoring swimmers of all ages and abilities.
