THE ROLE: This would be an assistant coach role with the possibility of moving into the Lead Age Group Coach. The ideal candidate is knowledgeable about the sport of swimming, enthusiastic about developing a higher level group and willing to work cohesively with our staff and team philosophy. This is a part time/ hourly position that reports directly to the head coach. Estimated time is 10 hours coaching and approximately two to four hours of admin per week, with more hours expected on weekends with swim meets.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support, develop and show measurable success at coaching swimmers.
- Attending all workouts and meet sessions in the season plan.
- Attend and support swim meets.
- Take attendance at each practice.
- Complete swim-meet entries in a timely manner taking into consideration the individual needs of each swimmer entered in the meet (as needed).
- Engage with swimmers of all ages and abilities.
- Communicate effectively with the coaching staff / parents.
- Implement workouts as set by head coach.
- Maintain a focus on technique, skill development, and athlete development.
- Promote team spirit.
- Maintain deck awareness to provide a safe environment for all swimmers.
- Adhere to and promote ATLA, USA & NE swimming policies and regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 16 years or older, 18 or older preferred.
- Prior swimming or coaching experience strongly preferred.
- Previous experience working with children under 18 strongly preferred.
- Must have or be able to obtain applicable USA Swimming certifications. ATLA will reimburse all certification fees after one year of employment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of TeamUnify or willingness to learn.

- Compensation is commensurate with experience
- If you are a parent of a swimmer, we also offer team subsidies. This would mean lower hourly pay.
