Waterloo Swimming is seeking a Lead Group Coach for our top 10&Under group for the  2024 Season.

Waterloo Swimming is a USA Swimming Bronze Medal swim club located in North Austin, TX. Currently operating out of one location featuring an Olympic sized, 50M pool, WLOO is home to just over 400 athletes ranging from Junior National finalists to beginning club swimmers. WLOO has finished in the top-five of the Texas Age Group State Championships (TAGS) for the last five seasons. 

We are looking for an energetic, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable swim coach to direct and lead our 10&Under TAGS training group. This group ranges in age from 9-12. The swimmers in this group are aiming to achieve A through AAAA times on the USA National Age Group Motivational Time Standards in multiple strokes and be competitive at the TAGS level. 

Candidates should be prepared to demonstrate technique-driven processes in their practice writing and season plan as well speak about their experience in developing athletes, administrative work off-deck, and effectively communicating with athletes, parents, and staff. 

We believe the best coaches have had experience at all levels of our sport, and it is our goal to provide that education to our entire staff. Each WLOO coach has the opportunity to work with all groups in our program as well as take the lead on team projects such as meet management, clinic operations, parent education or new swimmer outreach to further help build their resumes.

Duties and skills of the Lead Swim Coach include but are not limited to:

  • Abide by the American Swimming Coaches Association Code of Ethics, the USA Swimming Code of Conduct, and Waterloo Swimming policies and procedures.
  • Plan, prepare, and conduct team practices in accordance with our curriculum, practice schedules, and be supportive of the overall philosophy and direction of Waterloo Swimming.
  • Grow, coach, oversee, and manage our Waterloo Swimming program by writing and executing workouts, attending meets, entering swimmers into meets via software, running clinics, and social functions. Teach proper swim techniques and stroke mechanics

What to Expect
The Assistant Coach is responsible for supporting the Head Swimming & Diving Coach by coaching Cadet-athletes, recruiting, monitoring Cadet-athletes’ academic progress, scheduling, managing travel, overseeing the discipline and conduct of the Cadet-athletes. What You’ll Do
25% Coaching
  • Promotes the philosophy and objectives of AWPAA; to include adhering to and enforcing all applicable policies and procedures, as well as rules and regulations of USMA, the Conference, and the NCAA.
  • Assists the Head Coach the ongoing teaching and instruction of Cadet-athletes in the performance of their sport such as, but not limited to, games, practices, individual and team workouts, and conditioning sessions.
  • Coach and instruct student-athletes individually and in groups and demonstrate game techniques and skills required to be successful.
  • Plan and attend coaching and practice sessions, games, tournaments, etc. in accordance with NCAA and conference regulations for specified positions.

  • Has a large role in the identification, recruitment, and selection of prospective Cadet-athletes; ensures compliance with NCAA recruiting rules and regulations; initiates process for determining academic eligibility.
  • Recruit quality prospective Cadet-athletes and ensure timely submission of their academic records for admissions.
5% Academics 
  • Provide an overall positive educational environment for Cadet-athletes conducive to learning, athletic development, social growth, and preparing them for life beyond college.
  • Supervise, in conjunction with the athletic tutoring and advising program, the total academic progress of the team implementing corrective action plans through appropriate staff.
25% Administrative 
  • Work to integrate sports into the whole spectrum of USMA life to complement the AWPAA and USMA mission in the military community.
  • Assist the Head Coach in the administration of the entire sport program, including, but not limited to daily practices, game planning and implementation, recruiting, equipment management, facilities scheduling, and budget.
  • Ensures that team travel arrangements are in compliance with USMA, Conference, and NCAA rules and regulations, to include monitoring development of travel itineraries and coordination of travel plans.
  • Ensures safety of Cadet-athlete and coaching staff through careful monitoring of the condition of athletics equipment and facilities utilized by designated sport; submits requires for repair, maintenance, and improvement of facilities to facility manager, when appropriate.
10% Engagement/Camps & Clinics 
  • Perform both direct and indirect public relations functions including promotion, fund raising, public speaking, community events, and through camps and/or clinics. Serve on departmental committees as requested.
  • Assist with departmental needs as requested; When practical under the circumstances, staff is encouraged to voluntarily attend athletic events to promote audience participation and support for AWPAA sport programs.
  • Participates in camps, clinics, exhibitions, and campus activities as approved by AWPAA NCAA Compliance Office.
5% Other Duties as Assigned

TIME Practice times are 4:00-7:00pm from May-January and 4:30-7:30pm February-April. Some practice groups hold practices on weekends and weekday mornings. Coaches are expected to be available for weekend swim meets 1 or more sessions per meet. New staff members may be eligible for shifts as much as 6 days per week 2-3.5 hours per day or as little as twice per week 1.5 hours per day.

The Etown Dolphins Swim Team is seeking a Head Coach to oversee our swimming
program. We are a Board operated team run by the Head Coach. The Head Coach is
responsible for the direction of the program with full support from the board. The main
goal of the position is to continue to grow and develop our swim program, developing
each swimmer to their full potential while building an excellence of team results. It is
expected that the Head Coach will foster positive relationships, mentor as appropriate,

family members, and coaches. The Head Coach must develop the skills and talents of
the team members and coaching staff while promoting teamwork, sportsmanship and
encouraging personal development and excellence. The Head Coach will also be
expected to work in partnership with Elizabethtown High School and Etown Swim and
Fitness Center, and their respective facilities directors/managers to ensure proper
training availability.

Essential Responsibilities:
• Serve as the Head Coach for the team’s competitive swim program to
include Senior Groups, Age Groups and Learn to Swim.
o Develop and implement comprehensive training programs
across all team/group levels tailored to the needs and abilities
of individual swimmers/groups focusing on skill development,
tactical knowledge, and physical fitness. Provide personalized
coaching and feedback to individual athletes to help them
achieve their maximum potential. Organize and lead regular
team practices, to enhance team cohesion and performance.
The position will require working weeknight practices and some
weekend practices/meets with participation in meets at a local,
regional, state, and national levels. Supervise and maintain a
positive practice and meet environments.
• Foster a positive and inclusive team culture, emphasizing sportsmanship,
teamwork, and respect among athletes, coaches, and support staff. Build a
positive atmosphere through team-work and fun.
• Manage day-to-day operating issues, including (but not limited to):
o Organize staff meetings, provide ongoing feedback to coaches.
o Plan team practice schedules and meet schedules, including

  • Triton Swim Club is seeking a highly motivated Head Swim Coach to oversee training design, technique and performance excellence that align with the mission and values of our competitive swim club. Position is a full time salaried position (approximately 40 hours per week, including both on deck coaching and administrative/managerial duties). This position reports to Genesis Health Club management.

Expected Job Duties:

  • Serve as the Head Swim Coach for the team’s competitive swim program: 
    • Supervise and maintain practice and meet environment, fostering a positive, safe, inclusive, challenging and supportive team environment that promotes sportsmanship, teamwork and the personal growth and development of both athletes and assistant coaches. 
    • Develop and implement comprehensive training programs across all team/group levels tailored to the needs and abilities of each practice group,  focusing on skill development, stroke progression, tactical knowledge, and physical fitness. 
    • Ensure the safety of all swimmers during practices and meets, following proper protocols and guidelines.
  • Assessment and assignment of swimmers to training groups and appropriate goal setting.
  • Propose the competition calendar for the short course, long course, and championship seasons.
  • Ensure all swim meets have adequate coaching coverage for all participating swimmers.
  • Collaborate with team administrator (and Triton aquatics director) on team practice schedules and meet schedules, including team and coach travel, meet entry assignments, and other meet-related administrative duties. 
  • Uphold and enforce team rules, regulations, and board policies.

In addition to coaching experience, the head coach position is responsible for the day-to-day operations, hands-on guidance, and involvement in all aspects of the swim program, including but not limited to:

  • Maintain regular and efficient communication with swimmers, parents, and Genesis to provide updates on team activities, schedules, sport-specific education, and performance. Communication with the club via email, newsletter, office hours and athlete/ parent meetings when required/requested. 
  • Management, training, mentoring, scheduling and professional development of the assistant coach staff. Not limited to execution of staff meetings, scheduling, assignment and delegation of duties, development and implementation of a cohesive vision and coaching philosophy throughout the program. 
  • Work collaboratively with Genesis to ensure adequate and effective coaching staff to include position descriptions, search processes, acquisition, orientation and hiring/firing practices.
  • Work collaboratively with Genesis resources to secure pool time and set practice times for groups in the allotted time available, resolving pool limitations creatively to accommodate training.
  • Work collaboratively with the parent volunteers and Genesis by attending meetings and providing monthly progress reports regarding athlete performance, financial, communication, and staffing statuses.
  • Assist Genesis with the development and implementation of the annual budget and conduct and manage club activities within the parameters of the budget. 
  • Plan, participate, promote and engage in team community events, awards, team building and team social events and meetings. 
  • Collaborate with volunteer help to coordinate meet set-up, management, and take down for Club-hosted meets.
  • Lead swimmer recruitment and retention efforts to maintain Club membership.  
  • Represent Triton/Genesis professionally and positively within the Louisville swim community and greater. 
  • Maintain good public relations and communication with media, potential members, sponsors, etc.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current USA Swimming coach member in good standing, including lifeguard, first aid and all USA Swimming coach courses and certifications.
  • 5+ years coaching experience demonstrating a record of successful leadership with both developmental and elite swimmers in technique, race strategy, stroke mechanics, age-appropriate dryland training techniques and training methodologies. Strong understanding of overall balance of training for distance and sprint, taper techniques. 
  • Strong organizational ability to manage multiple tasks and events simultaneously.
  • Proficient in use of TeamUnify platforms, USA swimming, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint – or equivalent) and email.

Work Hours: Head Coach is a full-time exempt position with irregular hours including evenings and weekends. The position will also require working weekend meets with participation in meets at a local, state, regional and national levels. 

Compensation: Compensation is commensurate with education and experience and includes a structured bonus based on specific performance criteria. This position is eligible for health insurance, paid time off, meet and team travel expenses and mileage. Genesis covers annual expenses for all coach recertification and USA Swimming registration.
