Location: Monterey Park, CA, USA

Monterey Park Manta Rays (MPMR) is seeking an age group coach capable of creating a strong Age Group Regional team and preparing swimmers for Senor Level training.  Our mission at MPMR is to provide young athletes a competitive swimming program that will inspire them to achieve their highest potential in and out of the pool.  The club is non-profit parent board run swim team with 120+ swimmers.  The club trains at a 50 meter outdoor facility with four main training group (Development, Competitive Development, Age Group and Senior)

This coach will work closely with the Head Coach to support and promote the philosophy and training plan for participation and competition of all swimmers in assigned groups.  This coach will maintain a safe, friendly, positive and productive athletic environment that promotes hard work, self discipline, good sportsmanship and respect for self and others. This coach will help teach, train and motivate swimmers to achieve their mental and physical potential using age and experience appropriate techniques as directed by the Head Coach.

Must be available to coach between 4-8:30pm Mon-Fri plus weekend competitions and morning practice on Saturdays. This coach will prepare training plans and effectively coach to the skill standards set forth by the Head Coach for all assigned training groups.

Candidates must have a background in competitive club swimming with 2-3 years of coaching experience is preferred; must be effective communicator with a positive attitude, must posses a thirst for new knowledge and more effective training and teaching methods; must also be team oriented and willing to work collaboratively with coaches, parent board and parents. A.R.C. or equivalent CPR, First Aid and Safety training required by the start of employment.  Candidates should submit a background check and be free of felonies or any crimes related to abuse or sexual misconduct.

Passion and enthusiasm for competitive swimming and the ability to build relationships with swimmers at all skill levels.
