Accounting and Operations Manager

Description: Issaquah Swim Team is seeking an experienced, passionate, professional, and energetic individual to serve as our next Accounting and Operations Manager. This employee will be responsible for the team’s accounting and financial reporting, as well as providing customer service to our members. Partnering with our staff to manage the operational logistics of the team will also be an important part of this role, and this position will report directly to the organization’s CEO.

About IST: Issaquah Swim Team is a 300+ member year-round competitive swim team operating out of several facilities in the greater Issaquah, WA area. Our mission is to develop accomplished athletes and well-rounded individuals through competitive swimming. We have passionate coaches who are swimmer-centric, promote life-long learning through a philosophy of growth, and seek to actively participate in our larger community.

Responsibilities: The Accounting and Operations Manager would work directly with the coaches and board members to ensure excellence in accounting and operations that complements our team Mission, Vision, and Values. Additional responsibilities would include:

  • General bookkeeping
  • Monthly and quarterly financial statement preparation and review
  • Supporting the annual budget process
  • Member billing and related customer service
  • Payroll, including related expense reports and time sheets
  • Contract and policy management
  • Responding to electronic communication with staff and members on a timely basis
  • Attending staff meetings

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have a passion for organization and customer service. They will have a strong background in accounting and operations. They will share IST’s mission, pursue our team vision, and adhere to our organizational values. Additionally, candidates ideally should have:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Strong command of Quick Books Online
  • High proficiency in Excel
  • Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
  • Non-profit accounting or audit experience preferred
  • Customer service expertise

Compensation: Salary is highly competitive and commensurate with experience. Employee will be eligible for twice yearly bonuses and healthcare benefits.

Work Hours: The expectation is that the job will require 40 hours per week with occasional evening or weekend duties. Although there are not specified hours, the Accounting and Operations Manager is expected to be available during core hours of 9 AM to 3 PM Monday through Thursday (hours of work will be negotiated) with a schedule of availability posted on the Issaquah Swim Team website. Some core hours will be required to be in-person in our IST office space, while some hours can be completed remotely.
