Hanna House of the Carmel Swim Club is staying closer to home than her initial commitment and going to Notre Dame instead of Virginia.
Notre Dame has taken two class of 2014 swimmers from two different swim clubs on Long Island.
Rachel Grooms (above) has only been swimming year round for three years, and is already a primary target for the Louisville Cardinals.
“After an adventurous ride to Blacksburg, we had an up and down battle today with the Hokies,” said head coach Braden Holloway. “The ladies’ victory was a total team effort and it was great for them. For the guys, it was a rough day. Virginia Tech was ready for us and did a good job. The guys are going to have to be better in order to have success at this level.”
Virginia Tech, on the strength of some big dual meet wins, have started to put together a solid recruiting class.
