Colgate Women, Marist Men Earn Victories In Dual Meet Split

EASTON, Pa. – Another impressive performance for Colgate women’s swimming and diving saw eight Raiders score first-place finishes in defeating Marist 166-134 on Saturday at Lineberry Natatorium. 

Colgate won 10 total events including the 400 Medley and 200 Free Relay quartets. Katie MillerMG King, and Audrey Collins won two events apiece to pace the Raiders to their third straight dual victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Raiders’ 400 Medley Relay won the first event of the day, with Allie PhillipsNatalie HoferAudrey Collins, and Lucy Art pacing the quartet to a 3:53.15 gold finish. 

Miller kicked things off for Colgate’s first individual victory in the 1000 Free, clocking in with a time of 10:38.70 besting her nearest opponent by more than eight seconds. Her second victory came later in the meet, touching the wall first in the 500 Free with an impressive time of 5:09.68. 

King continued their dominance in the Backstroke, taking first place with a time of 58.80 in the 100 and striking gold once more with a time of 2:06.76 in the 200 Back.

Collins picked up her first victory in the 200 Fly, clocking in with a time of 2:04.49 – eight seconds faster than her nearest opponent. She secured her second gold finish in the 100 Fly at 56.40, beating out her teammate Allie Phillips for gold. 

Colgate’s final individual victory came in the 200 IM when Paige Fisher touched the wall in 2:10.59 to take the top spot. The Raiders sealed off the meet with a first-place finish in the 200 Free Relay, led by Heather O’Day, Hofer, Fisher, and Art finishing with a first-place time of 1:38.23.

EASTON, Pa. – David BrophyMichael Granin, and Nick Pompo each won two events in leading the Colgate men’s swimming and diving team during their 176-120 defeat to Marist on Saturday at Lineberry Natatorium. 

Colgate earned 20 podium finishes including a pair of victories apiece from Brophy and Granin and a diving sweep from Pompo.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Brophy secured Colgate’s first individual victory in the 1000 Free, clocking in at 9:50.04 to take the top spot in dominant fashion by more than 13 seconds. He turned in a time of 21.68 to strike gold in the 50 Free later in the meet, besting his teammate Tyler Bosma by three-tenths of a second. 

Granin won the 200 Free, giving Colgate its second individual win of the day with a time of 1:45.11 to beat Marist’s second-place finisher by one full second. His teammate Ben Dudley touched the wall in 1:47.48 for a third-place finish in the event. Granin also took gold in the 500 Free with a time of 4:52.44. 

Jack Schurtz-Ford and Connor O’Neil secured second-place finishes in the 100 Back (53.58) and 100 Breast (59.68), respectively. Colgate’s 400 Medley Relay quartet took silver, led by Schurtz-Ford, O’Neill, Matt Freund, and Granin, with a time of 3:31.66.

HAMILTON, New York – The Marist women’s swimming and diving team turned in a competitive effort on the road Saturday afternoon, earning several key event wins but ultimately falling 166–134 to Colgate.

Senior Gabrielle Norton headlined the day on the boards, sweeping both diving events for the Red Foxes. Norton won the 1-meter with a score of 256.73 before claiming the 3-meter title with 255.08 points. She was joined by a strong Marist diving group that included Lola CahillShannah Gray, and Caitlyn Degise, who all placed in the top five across both events.

In the pool, April Avila delivered another standout performance, sweeping the breaststroke events. The junior won the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:04.08 and followed with a victory in the 200-yard breaststroke at 2:23.23. Rae Dodson added valuable points in the 200 breast with a runner-up finish in 2:23.57, giving Marist a 1–2 punch in that event.

Freshman Anna Hoskovec paced the mid-distance group, claiming the 200 freestyle in 1:55.64 and adding a second-place effort in the 500 freestyle (5:12.43). Fellow first-year Kennedy Wheeler continued her strong start to the season by winning the 100 freestyle (53.24) and taking third in the 100 butterfly (59.85).

Additional top finishes came from Milena Judge, who placed third in the 200 backstroke (2:10.87), and Gwen Serafin, who was runner-up in the 200 butterfly (2:12.60) and added a fourth-place finish in the 500 free. Ashley Connor and Ellie DeKeukelaere each posted top-three results in the 200 individual medley, finishing second and third, respectively.

The Red Foxes closed the meet on a strong note, finishing second in the 200 freestyle relay. The team of Rian Dickman, Wheeler, Anna Kirby, and Charlotte Lepis touched in 1:38.45, just two-tenths of a second behind Colgate’s winning squad.

Despite the narrow team result, Marist showed depth and balance across all disciplines, earning key points from both veterans and newcomers.

HAMILTON, New York – The Marist men’s swimming and diving team delivered a commanding performance on the road Saturday, defeating Colgate 176–120 behind a series of strong swims and relay victories. The Red Foxes won 12 of 16 events, showing depth and consistency across all strokes and distances.

Marist set the tone early with a win in the opening 400 medley relay, as Brady KingDylan MagdaDane Dillenback, and Joseph Cash combined for a time of 3:28.99. King followed that up with a win in the 100 backstroke (52.47) and later added a fourth-place effort in the 500 freestyle.

In the breaststroke events, Caden Hardy and Dylan Magda provided a dominant presence. Hardy won the 100 breaststroke in 58.25, while Magda took the top spot in the 200 breast (2:06.08) and placed fourth in the 200 freestyle. Hunter Emerson and Wells Ely also scored valuable points, finishing third and fifth respectively in the 200 breast.

Freshman Lorenzo Aquilino continued his impressive start to his collegiate career, winning both the 200 individual medley (1:57.96) and the 200 backstroke (1:54.78). Aquilino also placed second in the 200 freestyle (1:46.11), showing impressive range across events.

Marist’s butterfly group also shined, with Lucas Silva winning both the 100 (52.75) and 200 (2:01.58) races. Ty Dropic followed close behind, finishing runner-up in both events, as the Red Foxes swept the top two spots in each.

Sprinters Jack Labianca and Oscar Bjering led the way in the 100 freestyle, placing first (48.00) and second (48.31), while Dane Dillenback took third (48.69) to complete a Marist sweep. Joseph Cash added a fifth-place finish in the 200 free and contributed to both winning relays.

On the diving boards, senior Ethan Gibbs led the way for Marist, earning third place on both the 1-meter (251.55) and 3-meter (253.28) events.

The Red Foxes capped the day with another relay victory, as Matthew McManus, Dillenback, Cash, and Joey Myer took first in the 200 freestyle relay with a time of 1:25.91.

With the win, Marist improved its dual-meet record and continued to showcase the team’s depth and momentum as the season progresses.
