Johanna Jorgenson of Club Wolverine in Michigan has sent a verbal commitment to the University of Southern California for 2020. She’s a senior at Saline High School.

Jorgenson is primarily a sprint freestyler, with strong times from the 50 up to the 200. She’s shown some speed in sprint breast and fly, and that has all come together for a nice 200 IM at 2:03.25.
At the 2018 Michigan D1 HS Champs last fall, Jorgenson helped Saline finish 5th overall in the team race. There, she was third in the 100 free (50.09) and fourth in the 50 free (23.27). She was the 50 free runner-up in 2017 as a sophomore.
Jorgenson will start at USC just after they graduate their top sprinter, Louise Hansson, and she’ll have a year overlap with the Trojans’ medley anchor Marta Ciesla. Jorgenson could figure into a great relay piece with some further development in her strength, the sprint free.
In USC’s class of 2024, Jorgenson joins Kaitlyn Dobler, Anicka Delgado, Andrea Santander, Caraline Baker, Adair Sand, Erica Sullivan, and Canada’s Jade Hannah.
