HAMILTON, N.Y. – The Boston University women’s swimming & diving team kicked off its second half with a pair of wins, topping Colgate and Fairfield in a double dual at Linneberry Natatorium on Saturday afternoon.
BU posted a 128-113 victory over Colgate and outdistanced Fairfield by a score of 153-88.
Freshman Molly Barber set pool records in the 50- and 100-yard freestyles and anchored a pool record in the 400 medley relay along with sophomore Cambria Jewett and classmates Hadar Miller and and Kiki Rampersad. Barber swam a 23.21 in the 50 free and then turned in a time of 50.29 in the 100.
Senior Haley Newman was victorious in the 200 butterfly (2:03.73) while freshman Alayna Kennedy took first in the 1-meter dive with a score of 264.50. Freshman Danka Ndubuisi turned in a pair of runner-up finishes in the 200 individual medley and the 200 backstroke.
BU, now 4-3 overall and 2-2 against Patriot League competition, will return to action next Saturday (Jan. 17) when it hosts MIT at 1:30 p.m.

HAMILTON, N.Y. – The Boston University men’s swimming & diving team opened the 2026 portion of its schedule with a double-dual sweep on Saturday at Colgate, topping the Raiders and Fairfield at Lineberry Natatorium.
The Terriers posted a 193-44 victory over Colgate and topped Fairfield by a score of 169-72.
Both relays set pool records as the 400 medley relay with senior Tony Ponomarev, junior Ethan Huynh, junior Henry Dvorak and freshman Nathan Lee crushed the previous mark by over seven seconds in a time of 3:17.97.
To close the meet, BU added another pool record when the 200 free relay of freshman Jinu Hong, freshman Azariah Mamousette, Dvorak and senior Ben Cho turned in time of 1:22.20.
Sophomore Giovanni Sullo won three events while Ponomarev and Hong claimed two wins apiece. Junior Zein Mahana swept the diving events.
Sullo won both distance freestyle events (9:30.28 – 1000, 4:35.69 – 500) and turned in a winning time of 1:51.03 in the 200 butterfly. Hong won the sprints, placing first in the 50 (20.86) and 100 (45.83) freestyle races. Ponomarev claimed a victory in the 200 individual medley (1:51.42) before taking first in the 200 backstroke (1:48.37).
Mahana earned a NCAA zones cut in the 3-meter with a season-best score of 345.20 and then added a win in the 1-meter (286.65).
Lee was tops in the 200 freestyle, recording a time of 1:40.74.
BU, now 4-3 overall and 3-1 against Patriot League competition, will return to action next Saturday (Jan. 17) when it hosts MIT at 1:30 p.m.

HAMILTON – First-year Paige Fisher claimed two of Colgate’s six golds secured and the Raiders landed three pool records in a standout performance against Boston University and Fairfield on Saturday afternoon inside Lineberry Natatorium.
The Colgate women’s team earned a decisive 152-89 victory over Fairfield and battled hard in a 128-113 loss to Boston University. The men’s team dropped head-to-head duals against Boston U (193-44) and Fairfield (154-83).

WOMEN’S HIGHLIGHTS
Fisher delivered an outstanding meet. She set a pool record in the 200 breaststroke (2:18.63) and followed it up with a win in the 200 Free (1:51.93) and a runner-up finish in the 100 Free (52.29). MG King added another pool record in the 200 backstroke (1:59.63), and Audrey Collins capped the record-breaking effort with a dominant swim in the 200 IM (2:04.81).
Katie Miller, Collins, King, and Ellie Sundin also captured first-place finishes on the day for the women’s team, which earned 16 podium finishes.
Miller continued her stellar first-year campaign with a first-place finish in the 1000 Free, clocking in at 1:51.93 to set the tone for the Raiders. Collins later brought home gold in the 200 IM with a time of 2:04.81. King was the first to touch the wall in the 200 Back with a time of 1:59.63.
Sundin paced the Raiders on the diving board with a pair of podium finishes. She took first place in the 3-Meter Dive with a score of 243.00, and also claimed bronze in the 1-Meter Dive (240.95).
MEN’S HIGHLIGHTS
Jack Schurtz-Ford and Nick Pompo guided the Colgate men’s swimming and diving team with two podium finishes apiece. Schurtz-Ford placed second in the 200 Back with an impressive time of 1:51.60 before taking third in the 50 Free (21.12).
Pompo was a force on the diving board for the Raiders. The first-year claimed silver in the 1-Meter Dive with a score of 264.25 and placed third in the 3-Meter Dive (266.40), giving the men’s team four total podium finishes on the day.

Colgate is back in action for Senior Day next Saturday when the Raiders host Holy Cross at 12 p.m.

HAMILTON, N.Y. – The Fairfield University swimming and diving teams made their 2026 debut today, participating in a tri-meet with Boston University and host Colgate University. The men’s team earned a split by defeating Colgate by a 154-83 score but falling to Boston University by a 169-72 count. The women’s team came up short against both Boston University (153-88) and Colgate (152-89).
The Stags earned several top three finishes over the event with first-place finishes from Natasha De Pree and Balazs Ament highlighting the day. De Pree secured the best time in the 500-yard free with a time of 5:01.87 while Ament garnered the top spot based on finish of 1:59.83 in the 200-yard breast.
In addition, three men’s swimmers secured a pair of top three finishes for Fairfield, namely Tim Regan, Bobby Regan, and Aidan Schnapf. Schnapf earned second place in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:41.17 and third place in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 1:51.02.
Tim Regan garnered third-place swims in the 200-yard freestyle, touching the wall in 1:41.28, as well as the 500-yard freestyle, checking in at 4:40.69. Bobby Regan collected silver in the 200-yard IM by taking the distance in 1:52.56 and bronze in the 200-yard breaststroke by clocking in at 2:05.40.
Jochi Nolla completed the 1000-yard freestyle in 9:42.19 which was strong enough for third place. Cormac Rouse completed Fairfield’s top three finishes for the men with his second-place showing in the 100-yard freestyle (46.30).
On the women’s side, Sofia Smerechniak also placed in the 1000-yard freestyle, bringing home third with a time of 10:34.52. Isla Bartholomew registered third place in the 200-yard IM by finishing the event in 2:08.55. Callie Gray picked up a second-place finish in the 200-yard butterfly by touching the wall in 2:04.46. Tone Sandsjo ended the day for Fairfield swimmers with her third-place swim in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:21.92).
Fairfield divers also made their mark in the tri-meet with Jade Leblic scoring 196.90 points in the 1-meter (6th) and Alexandra Reback posting 180.45 points in the 3-meter (8th). Andrew Cataldo was the Stags’ top finisher in both the 1-meter (238.05 points) and the 3-meter (255.90 points) for fourth place in both dives.
The Fairfield University swimming and diving teams will complete the home portion of their schedule on Saturday, January 17 when the squads host Iona University at the RecPlex Pool. Between the diving and swimming competitions, the Stags will honor the senior class with a ceremony.
