Maria Sheridan:
Maria was born and raised in Charlotte, NC where she grew up swimming for SwimMAC Carolina. She then went on to swim for her high school team at Charlotte Catholic where she was a four time state champion in both the 200 free and 200 medley relays (courtesy of goduke.com). She helped lead her high school team to four state titles, and as a junior was runner up in both the 50 free and 100 fly. At Duke, Maria has continued training fly, back and sprint free.
Club:
Maria was a part of SwimMAC Carolina where she swam under Alan Pfau, Russ Kasl, David Marsh and James Wike. While at SwimMAC, Maria qualified for the 2012 Olympic Trials and was a Junior Nationals qualifier in 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014.
Personal:
Maria is majoring in Sociology with a minor in Women’s Studies. She plans to receive a certificate in both Journalism and Markets and Management Studies with aspirations to work in journalism or public relations.
