Daughter of Lon and Tracy Peterson. Began her swim career with the Mankato Marlins swim team.
High School
Member of the school record holding 200-yard medley relay. Big 9 Conference honorable mention honors during sophomore season and all-conference honors her senior year. Was a captain her senior year.
College
2012-2013: Had a successful year for the Minnesota State University, Mankato mavericks. Swam mostly mid distance and distance freestyle and backstroke. Placed eighth in the 200-yard freestyle versus Minnesota State University, Moorhead. Swam collegiate best times in the 500 and 1,000-yard freestyle at the NSIC Championships.
