Jenny Garzinski
Jenny is the only child of Robert and Christine Garzinski. She has grown up primarily in Ohio. She is an avid fan of Chicago sports teams including the Blackhawks, Cubs, Bears, and the Bulls. Jenny enjoys music of various genres and especially vinyl albums.
Club
Jenny swam and earned four varsity letters at Springboro High School. She was a four-time GWOC all-conference selection. She qualified for the Ohio state meet six times and earned her spot on the All-Ohio team on three occasions. Jenny was a five-time All-American and program record holder in four individual events and as part of three relays. A dedicated student, Jenny was the recipient of President’s Education Award for Outstanding Academic Achievement and an award for four years of perfect attendance.
College
2011-2012
As a freshman Jenny focused on the breaststroke for the Lady Flames. Jenny helped team earn victory in 200 medley relay at Radford Invitational, swimming the breaststroke leg. She earned her first individual event win as a Flame in the 100 breaststroke on Oct. 28 against Radford University. At her first CCSA Championship in 2012, she swam a personal-best time in the 100 backstroke with a 59.18. Jenny also earned season best times at the championship in the 100 breast with a 1:10.15 and the 200 breast with a 2:27.39.
2012-2013
Jenny raced the backstroke, breaststroke, and individual medley events for her sophomore season. She swam the 50 back to lead off 200 medley relay on three occasions for the Liberty Flames. At the 2013 CCSA Championship meet in Athens, GA, Jenny posted a 2:07.06 to place 19th with a personal best in the 200 back. Jenny also posted two season best times with a 2:12.31 in the 200 IM and a 59.74 in 100 back at conference meet.
2013-2014
Junior year was a breakout season for Jenny as she continued to compete in the backstroke, breaststroke and individual medley. She raced on multiple relays throughout the regular season. At the 2013 CCSA championship, Jenny posted three lifetime best times. She raced the 200 IM in 2:08.72 to claim 24th place in the CCSA. Jenny finished 20th in CCSA in the 100 backstroke with a 58.16. She raced a lifetime best of 2:04.11 in the 200 backstroke to place 14th overall and score her first individual conference points of her career. Her points helped the Lady Flames win the CCSA conference title for the first time in team history.
2014-2015
Jenny completed her swimming career for the Liberty Flames specializing in the IM and backstroke events. She raced mostly the 100 and 200 backstroke for the Lady Flames throughout the regular season. She was part of Liberty’s victorious 4×50 breaststroke relay versus Georgia Southern and UNC Wilmington on January 30th. At the CCSA Championship Jenny raced the 200 IM, 100 back and 200 back posting strong swims in each event. Jenny was part of the stand out senior class that earned Liberty three runner up finishes and one conference championship (2014) during her four years of competition.
Personal
Jenny is a pursuing a bachelors degree in elementary education at Liberty University. She is passionate about education and her students love her energy. Her goal is to work in inner city schools after she graduates in May 2015.
