Oakland Hosts 2016 Horizon League Championships

The Oakland men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams will attempt to defend their Horizon League titles beginning Wednesday, Feb. 24 at the Oakland Aquatic Center as they host the 2016 Horizon League Swimming and Diving Championships.

Dingley Makes Irish Diving History

Ireland’s Oliver Dingley has made Irish diving history today as he qualified a place for Ireland at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Ireland has not been represented in Diving at the Games in 68 years with Dubliner Eddie Heron the last to compete at the 1948 Olymics in London.

USA Women Stop Canada 14-4 For Fourth Straight Win In Texas

The USA Women’s National Team continued their winning ways in Texas with a 14-4 win over Canada earlier tonight at the Lewisville ISD Westside Aquatics Center. Makenzie Fischer (Laguna Beach, CA/Laguna Beach HS/SET) scored four goals while Ashleigh Johnson (Miami, FL/Princeton/NYAC) recorded 14 saves in the win.

Tennessee’s Peter Stevens Disqualified in SEC 100 Breast Prelims

Tennessee breaststroker Peter Stevens was disqualified in the 100 breast and will be unable to compete for an individual SEC title. The officials called the DQ due to a dolphin kick motion during Stevens’ finish.

2016 SEC Championships: Georgia Women Lead Day 4 Ups/Mids/Downs

UGA got the job done this morning, getting 5 A-finalists to tie with Missouri for the most championship final swims tonight. Overall, the Bulldogs will total 8 individual scoring swims tonight, with 2 B-finalists and a C-finalist.

The NC State women capped off a successful Thursday night finals session at ACCs with a huge win in the 200 free relay. The team of Riki Bonnema, Ashlyn Koletic, Natalie Labonge, and Krista Duffield charged to a 1st place finish and a new ACC record of 1:27.50.

Michigan’s Mokhtar Al-Yamani Named Big Ten Swimmer of the Week
