Green was much faster on the final 200 of his race, dipping below 30 seconds on his splits with 200 meters to go.
This marked his second meet record of the meet after breaking the 1500 free meet record on night 1 of competition with a 15:07.49. That dropped nine seconds off of the previous meet record.
He went four for four in best times overall at the meet. In addition to his wins in the 1500 free and 800 free, he swam to a 4:15.53 400 IM and a 3:47.07 in the 400 free.
Green’s time from tonight would have been tied for 7th at US Summer Nationals in June. His 400 free from earlier this week would have been 4th while his 1500 free would have been 5th. Green did not compete at US Summer Nationals.
He is the #9 ranked recruit in the boys high school class of 2025 and is headed to Georgia.

Luka is not having the best week. Maybe he should have just went to JNs
Ummm, this record was set in 2023 when he was 14. And an 18 year old broke it! Also, Luka’s time is over 2s faster than this new record…Just noting for completeness here!
MFW the 16 year old Mijatovic wasn’t at junior nationals to defend his meet record
He was at the World Championships with Team USA! I think that is a higher goal than age group records at this time in his career!
