The Mason Manta Rays swam to a new 15-18 national age group (NAG) record in the boys 200 medley relay, touching in a 1:41.44. That reset the record of a 1:41.60 set by McFarland Spartan Sharks just a week ago at Futures in Madison, Wisconsin. In addition to a NAG record, the relay also set a new meet record. The previous meet record was a 1:41.93 set by Dynamo Swim Club in 2022. Dynamo’s relay was the NAG record until McFarland got under the mark last week.

Split Comparison

Leg Mason Manta Rays, 2025 McFarland Spartan Sharks, 2025 (Previous 15-18 NAG) Dynamo Swim Club, 2022 (Previous Meet Record)
Backstroke Hayden Meyers, 26.68 Blake TeBeest, 26.46
Breaststroke Walker Bailey, 28.52 Gavin Reiser, 28.05 (54.51)
Britton Spann, 29.16 (54.74)
Butterfly Brady Campbell, 24.02 Cale TeBeest, 24.20 (1:18.71)
Owen McDonald, 24.24 (1:18.98)
Freestyle Jason Zhao, 22.22 Shane TeBeest, 22.89 Leo Roden, 22.95
Total Time 1:41.44 1:41.60 1:41.93

The biggest difference today came from Jason Zhao who anchored the relay for Mason Manta Rays in a 22.22. Zhao notably has a best time of a 22.90 in the 50 free so his split bodes well for his individual race later this meet.

Bailey, Meyers, and Zhao are all 18 years old while Campbell is only 16 years old. Campbell also had an impressive split of a 24.02 on the fly leg, faster than both the splits from Dynamo’s and McFarland’s relays.
