Green averaged 30.25 seconds on his splits compared to Calloni who had an average of 30.55. Green only split above 31 seconds once in the race, flipping with only 100 meters left in the race.
In addition to smashing the meet record, the swim also marked a huge best time for the 18 year old. Green entered the meet with a best time 15:25.06 that he swam for 17th at the 2023 US National Championships. He has raced the event five times since then.
His time today notably would have placed 5th in the event at US Summer Nationals that happened at the beginning of June. It took a 14:57.83 to make the US roster for the 2025 World Championships as Bobby Finke swam to a 14:48.65 and David Johnston was 2nd in a 14:57.83.
Green is set to join Georgia this fall and is the #9 ranked recruit in the boys high school class of 2025. His swim today also makes him the 16th fastest performer in the 17-18 age group of all-time.
