Lismar Lyon Kills Supersuited South American Record With 25.63 50 Fly

2026 Venezuelan Championships

  • United Nations Park, Caracas, Venezuela
  • May 26-30, 2026
  • 50 meters (LCM)

Venezuelan reality TV star and swimmer Lismar Lyon had a major breakout swim in Caracas this weekend. The Miami-based athlete dominated her 50 fly preliminary heat at her country’s championships, charging to a personal best of 25.63.

This was a watershed moment in the 25-year-old’s swimming career. Not only does it lower her national record from 26.08, which she swam last week at the Sacramento PSS, it marks a new continental record. The previous South American mark stood untouched since the supersuit days of 2009, courtesy of Brazilian Daynara de Paula (25.85). This is now the only women’s South America swimming record that belongs to a country other than Argentina or Brazil.

On a global scale, Lyon has launched herself into the world top ten for the first time in her career, checking in at #8 for the season.

Lyon has been on a tear since returning to a swimming focus after starring on season nine of Telemundo’s fitness competition show “Exatlón U.S.” at the beginning of 2025. In the 50 fly, she lowered the Venezuelan record four times in the last two years from 26.52 to 25.63. She made similar strides in the 100 fly, in which she currently holds the national record at 58.90.
