2025 “Best of the Rest” Molly Yacoviello Switches Commitment from Wisconsin to South Carolina

Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

York, Pennsylvania native Molly Yacoviello has announced her commitment to swim and study at the University of South Carolina in the class of 2029. Originally committed to Wisconsin, she told SwimSwam about her decision to change:

“After a lot of consideration and conversations with my family and coaches, I am beyond excited and truly blessed to announce my commitment to continue my academic and athletic journey at the University of South Carolina! I want to thank everyone who has supported me along the way – my coaches, teammates, family and friends. Thank you, Coach Jeff, for this amazing opportunity to join the Gamecocks family. Most importantly, I give God all the glory for guiding my steps through this process. Go, Cocks!”

Yacoviello is a breaststroke/IM specialist whom we have ranked among the “Best of the Rest” swimming recruits from the high school class of 2025. In March, she won the 200 breast (2:11.66), 200 fly (1:58.55), and 400 IM (4:15.05) and was runner-up in the 200 IM (2:00.43) at the 2025 YMCA National Short Course Championships. At the 2024 version of the same meet, she took home gold medals in the 100 breast (1:01.99) and 200 breast (2:10.87).

In LCM, Yacoviello had a strong showing last summer at the 2024 Speedo Summer Championships in Irvine. She finaled in the 100 breast (20th), 200 breast (17th), and 400 IM (30th) and left with new PBs in all three events (1:11.86/2:34.46 in the breaststrokes and 4:58.79 in the 400 IM). So far this season, she has clocked lifetime bests in the LCM 200/400 free and 100 fly.

Best SCY times:

  • 100 breast – 1:01.81
  • 200 breast – 2:10.87
  • 200 IM – 2:00.43
  • 400 IM – 4:15.05
  • 200 fly – 1:58.55

Her best 200 breast time would have scored for the Gamecocks in the “B” final at 2025 SEC Championships. It took 1:01.00 in the 100 breast, 1:58.30 in the 200 fly, 1:59.04 in the 200 IM, and 4:14.85 in the 400 IM to get second swims at the conference meet.

Yacoviello will join the Gamecocks next fall with incoming first-years Tori Abruzzo, Alexis Dalton, Kesa Taivassalo, Maddie Reynolds, and Taylor Grimley. She will overlap one year with former YY club teammate Meaghan Harnish, a rising senior on the Gamecocks’ roster.
