- Recaps:
The penultimate night of racing unfolded at the 2025 European Junior Championships with the nation of Great Britain surging ahead of the overall swimming medal table, albeit by a narrow margin.
GBR has amassed 8 total medals, including 3 golds, 3 silvers and 2 bronze.
Italy holds fast as the second-best performing nation thus far in Slovakia , just one piece of hardware shy of GBR, while Spain continues to impress with a haul of 6 medals to keep its rank as #3 with one night to go.
This evening, Theodora Taylor earned 50m free silver behind winner Martine Damborg of Denmark to add another piece of hardware to the Brit kitty while the British girls’ 4x200m free relay captured the bronze.
Making waves for Italy were the girls’ 4x200m free relay which won the title in a new European Junior Record of 7:56.06.
Spanish dynamos Estella Nollgen and Luca Hoek le Guenedal have set themselves up for potential gold tomorrow night in the girls’ 200m back and boys’ 50 free finals, respectively.
Turkey got on the board this evening courtesy of a stellar performance by Kuzey Tuncelli who dominated the boys’ 1500m free in a tine of 14:45.05 to rank 5th in the world on the season.

Huh? There’s 3 days to go.
I’m glad I’m not the only one who was confused by the headline.
