GOLD – Nusrat Allahverdi (TUR), 27.24
SILVER – Filip Nowacki (GBR), 27.61
BRONZE – Jan Malte Grafe (GER), 27.65
Yesterday, Nowacki swam 27.63 in the boy’s 50 breaststroke semi-final to break the months old British 17-year-old Age Group record set by Max Morgan by a hundredth-of-a-second.
Tonight, he sliced another two-hundredths off that record time, swimming 27.61 to finish just under four tenths behind Nusrat Allahverdi‘s 27.24 for 2nd.
He has now put himself even closer to the 18-year-old British record of 27.58, which belongs to Adam Peaty from 2013, only sitting three-hundredths back now.
He still has the 100 and 200 breaststroke events ahead of him this week.
Max Morgan will be swimming at the World Championships later this month, so we will see if he can take his record back.
