Position Summary: Provide a quality and safe swim team program following SBA’s values and mission to provide our community with the opportunity to compete in the sport of swimming and learn life skills through participation in the sport.

Reports to: Swim Team Head Coach

Essential Job Functions:

1. Actively coach assigned group(s) and help elsewhere when needed
   1. Be on the pool deck to supervise swimmers from the time they arrive to the time they leave
   2. Develop a stretching and dry-land routine
   3. Routinely give both positive and constructive feedback to swimmers in an appropriate manner
2. Understand the development of strokes and techniques to help swimmers progress
3. Provide a positive and engaging program for swimmers
4. Help SBA maintain accurate records for your group
   1. Daily attendance
   2. Registrations
   3. Proper group placement
5. Actively communicate with swimmers and parents
   1. Schedules/Changes in Schedules
   2. Meet Schedules
   3. Clinics
   4. Goal Setting
   5. Time Standards
6. Actively participate in swim meets when scheduled to attend by the Head Coach
   1. Help swimmers understand how meets work (getting to the blocks, heat sheets, etc)
7. Actively participate in monthly coach’s meeting
8. Keep open lines of communication with the Head Coach and Board of Directors
9. Work with the Head Coach to suggest changes to the program and how to implement those ideas 

Job Responsibilities:

1. On deck coaching 5-25 hours per week
2. Year-round availability
3. Weekday and Saturday practices
4. Weekend swim meets- 1 per month depending on number of SBA swimmers attending the meet
5. Helping lead dry land activities
6. Additional responsibilities as assigned 

Desired Qualifications:

1. Coaching and/or competitive swimming experience at the club or collegiate level
2. Current USA Swimming coach certifications
3. Desire & passion for developing swimmers of all ages
4. Enthusiastic and highly motivated team player
5. Unique ability to work with and motivate pre-teen swimmers
