PARKWAY-ROCKWOOD SWIM CLUB HEAD COACH
Beginning in August 2025, the Parkway Swim Club and Rockwood Swim Clubs, currently operating as separate programs, will combine to form the Parkway-Rockwood Swim Club. The combined club will have 650+ members from throughout the St. Louis region, making it one of the largest clubs in the Ozark LSC of USA Swimming and one of the largest swim clubs in the country.
Parkway-Rockwood Swim Club is operated through Parkway-Rockwood Community Ed, a partnership between the Parkway and Rockwood School Districts. Parkway-Rockwood Community Ed provides high quality programs to enhance the quality of life for residents in the areas of adult education & literacy, aquatics, art, enrichment, outdoor education, school-age care and visual and performing arts.
Parkway-Rockwood Swim Club highlights include:
- Bringing together decades of success in the sport of swimming for both Parkway Swim Club and Rockwood Swim Club
- The best swimming pool facilities and pool use availability in St. Louis, including ten (10) indoor 25-yard pools and a 50-meter heated outdoor pool.
- Premier coaching staff featuring many years of experience helping athletes achieve success in and out of the pool.
We are currently looking for a dynamic head coach to provide leadership in developing, implementing and supervising one of the premier swim clubs in the Midwest.
Responsibility highlights include:
- Manage day-to-day operation of the swim club, including budget oversight and recruitment, training and supervision of swim club staff.
- Create, administer and manage program evaluation process to ensure swim club is meeting accepted quality program standards as well as Community Ed department philosophies and guidelines.
- Attend and oversee all aspects of practice for assigned group.
- Represent the swim club locally, regionally and nationally through Ozark LSC and USA Swimming.
- Work effectively with swim club booster group.
The ideal candidate will exhibit the following:
- Proven coaching success in the sport of competitive swimming.
- Minimum 5 years in an age group swim program; previous leadership role preferred.
- American Swim Coaches certification required.
- Ability to hold and retain USA Coach’s card.
- Ability to think strategically, take initiative and administer effective leadership in developing and implementing a quality competitive swim club program for athletes.
- Ability to work in a cross-functional, team-based environment and collaborate with others in setting goals and problem solving.
- Possess strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
The position is located at the Community Ed office in Ellisville, MO and includes weekly in-person office hours as well as hours on pool deck.
This is a full-time position with starting salary range of $65,000-$70,000/year and includes the following:

Position start date: While the full-time start date for this position will be on or after July 1,2025, the head coach will be expected to be involved in some planning work during spring 2025 in advance of the launch of the new Parkway-Rockwood Swim Club.
