Spencer Adamson of Kansas City, MO has verbally committed to swim for Northern Michigan University beginning in the 2021-2022 season. Adamson swims year-round for Club North Swimming and is entering his senior year at Staley High School.

Last high school season, the Staley High School junior competed at the Missouri Boys Class 2 State Championship in St. Peters, MO. He finished 19th in the 100 back, clocking in at 56.81. Adamson also swam the 100 fly, touching 3rd in prelims. In finals, he dropped 0.01 seconds for a time of 51.76 and finished 4th.
Adamson recorded personal best times in each of his swims at the meet, including best times in the 50 back and fly from the first half of his races.

Adamson will be one of Northern Michigan’s top 100 butterfliers when he joins in the fall of 2021. His 100 fly time would have been the team’s 4th fastest this season behind Henry Bauer, Maksim Kapustin Kapustin, and Jonas Reinhold.
The Northern Michigan University men finished 3rd at the 2020 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships. They took home the gold medal in the 800 free relay, the silver in the 400 free relay, and the bronze in the 200 free and medley relays. Senior Lajos Budai earned gold medals in the 100 back and free, and silver in the 200 free. Rising junior Roberto Camera won the 100 breast.
