CLEVELAND, Miss. — The Delta State men’s swimming and diving team brought home five more titles on day two of the New South Intercollegiate Swim Conference Championships and own a commanding 245 point lead over Henderson State University, which currently sits second with 382 points.

INSIDE THE ROPES
- The Lady Statesmen 200 freestyle relay team finished second with a time of 1:35:07.
- Chelsea Borrowdale placed first in the women’s 400 individual medley with a time of 4:19:12.
- Matey Razashki finished first in the 400 IM in 3:55:86.
- Lucia Martelli captured the gold in the women’s 100 butterfly with a time of 54:31, while Celeste Turner finished second with a 54:99.
- Giulio Brugnoni earned the gold with a time of 47:34.
- Celeste Turner broke the NSISC record and set a pool record in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:48:34. The NSISC record was previously held by former Lady Statesmen Gaby Santis.
- Michael Maly brought home the gold in the men’s 200 freestyle with a time of 1:39:21, while Emanuel Fava finished third with a time of 1:40:61.
- The Lady Statesmen took first in the 400 medley relay with a time of 3:48:21.
- Delta State’s 400 medley relay team finished the night by taking first with a time of 3:17:69.
ON THE BOARDS
- Kyle Weesner finished in first in the men’s one meter diving competition with a score of 501.65. Jawone Blankenship finished in second with 499 points.

CLEVELAND, Miss. – The University of West Florida swimming and diving team increased their first-place lead on day two of the New South Intercollegiate Swimming Conference Championships. UWF leads the field with 597 total points at the halfway point. Delta State is in second place with 520 points. Ouachita Baptist (191 points) and Texas-Permian (159 points) are followed by Montevallo (155 points) and Henderson State (143 points) to round out the rest of the field.
West Florida started the day off with a first-place finish (1:34.37) in the 200 Freestyle Relay by Argos’ Ester Rizzetto, Caitlin Tierney, Abigail Williamson, and Aubrey Miller.
In the 400 IM Finals, UWF had six different swimmers finish in the top eight. Yael Danieli led the way placing second (4:24.97) and Olivia Hadaway followed her in third-place with a time of 4:28.76.
Freshman Stefanie Markwardt placed third in the 100 Butterfly with a finals time of 56.41. Katelyn Balent came in fifth by posting a 56.67.
Four Argos finished inside the top ten in the 200 Freestyle. Rizzetto led the pack with a second-place finish (1:49.63). Tierney, Caitlin Chandler and Morgan Ayers all finished back-to-back-to back, placing 6th (1:55.19), 7th (1:55.73) and 8th (1:56.40) respectively.
The Argos ended the day with a second-place finish (3:49.31) in the 400 Medley Relay by Miller, Ayers, Markwardt, and Williamson.
Friday will feature the 500 Free, 100 Back, 100 Breast, 200 Fly, 1m Diving and conclude with the 800 Free Relay. A swimming prelim session will begin at 10 am, and the finals session will start at 5 pm at the Ronnie Mayers Aquatics Center.
