Dozier Joins UNC Asheville Women’s Swimming Staff

Asheville, N.C. – UNC Asheville head swimming coach Elizabeth Lykins has announced the addition of Daniel Dozier as the assistant coach of the women’s swimming program.

Dozier joins the Bulldogs after working with the Waves of Wilmington for the past year. He is also a recent graduate of UNC Wilmington (’16), where he enjoyed a successful swimming career specializing in the 100 and 200 Yard Breaststroke. He was a four-year member of Wilmington’s Conference squad and a member of both their 2013 and 2014 CAA Conference Championship winning teams.

“I am excited to welcome Daniel Dozier to the Bulldog swimming staff and the University,” said Lykins. “His enthusiasm, passion for the sport and familiarity with the state of North Carolina make him an excellent selection as our new assistant swimming coach. Dozier’s experience coaching and swimming in the Raleigh and Wilmington areas will help UNC Asheville Swimming further extend our name.”

“As a student-athlete, Dozier was a part of two conference championship teams. This kind of success only happens with a commitment to improve on a daily basis and the knowledge of what it takes to be successful in a Division I swimming program,” Lykins added.

In his time as a student, Dozier majored in Exercise Science and is passionate about developing the overall athlete by addressing training, nutrition and overall health.

“I am beyond excited to have this opportunity at UNC Asheville. The Bulldog swimmers have been on the rise, and I can’t wait to join Coach Lykins as she takes the team to even higher levels of performance,” said Dozier.
