Aggies Seek to “Pack the Pool” for Breast Cancer Awareness Dual Meet

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Texas A&M will seek to “Pack the Pool” for Friday’s breast cancer awareness dual meet at 6 p.m. at the Student Recreation Natatorium on the A&M campus.

The Aggie women’s squad will compete in a “double dual” against Incarnate Word and Miami (Fla.), while the men’s team will face off against Incarnate Word. Both Aggie squads are unbeaten this season with the women’s team owning wins over Kentucky and North Texas and the men having a win over Kentucky.

In conjunction with the #BTHO Breast Cancer meet, the Aggies are selling pink t-shirts ($15) and accepting admission donations ($5) to raise funds for the Pink Alliance, which serves as the Brazos Valley’s advocate for breast health and cancer support. Additionally, the Aggies are in a competition with nine schools (Boston College, Duke, Florida State, Kansas, UCLA, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Utah and Tennessee) to see which program can raise the most money for its local charity at its designated breast cancer awareness competition. The team with the largest donation will earn a $9,000 “pot” for their chosen charity. The pot will be comprised of funds contributed by nine donors, as each team was responsible for finding a donor to provide $1,000 toward the overall total.
