NCAA Division I meets to watch for 1/7-1/11

January 06th, 2015 Big 12, College, Previews & Recaps, SEC

The NCAA season returns in full this weekend with several meets to watch.

The Texas Longhorns will swim two of the best meets. First, the Longhorns will take on Auburn in Auburn on Thursday in a matchup of traditional powerhouse programs. The Longhorn men are currently number one in the CSCAA poll, while Auburn is 10th. The Texas women are ranked sixth, and the Auburn women are ranked 12th.

Texas will then head to Athens on Saturday for Georgia head coach Jack Bauerle’s first home meet back from suspension. It should be a great meet on the men’s side, pitting Georgia’s strong distance group against a Texas team that is solid all the way through the line up. The women’s meet should be a good one as well, with defending champion Georgia always fast and the Texas lineup looking to pull off a big upset.

Florida State and Louisville will square off on Friday and Saturday in an ACC meet that should provide a good benchmark for both teams at this point in the season.

Two more meets, that are a little bit under the radar, will be held in College Station, Texas, where the Texas A&M men will take on Missouri State and Tennessee, and the women will host SMU and Tennessee. Then, Texas A&M will host a dual meet with an Alabama team that is quietly improving year after year.

Below we’ve listed all the NCAA Division I meets we could find. There’s a lot teams so we’re sure we’ve missed a few. Leave them in the comments and we’ll add them to our list.

Weirdo…your comments are as puzzling as your name. Where do you get the UGA team is not a good dual meet team? Pretty sure their dual meet and SEC/NCAA record speaks for itself.

Perhaps you meant to say it will be a tough meet with Carol coming back to UGA against many kids she recruited. She is a great coach and her women’s team will be prepared and very strong . I agree with you UGA’s depth fits better in championship meet format. Both teams are training hard and expect a tough battle to maintain the UGA record home meet win streak.

GO DAWGS!! Woof Woof Woof
